Off The Shoulder Top in Denver – Outfit 7-17-16

This summer so far has been filled with the discoveries and reintroductions of fashion trends: boyfriend jeans, culottes, white tennis shoes, slip dresses, all-white ensembles, and so much more. Off the shoulder tops in particular have been on the rise since early spring 2016, and is still quite popular.

Off The Shoulder tops are so flattering and allows you to show a bit of skin, but isn’t too revealing. It’s a perfect option for basically all different weather conditions. Let it be a hot and humid day and you got that light and cool top that breezes with the wind. Let it be a cold summer night, and a thicker material top would keep you warm and stylish.

The get-up shows some elegance with the slight crochet details on the sleeves and the long flared sleeves really makes the piece airy and comfortable.

Now, a little history lesson for you guys. Let’s go way back when — to the mid 1800’s. THE MID 1800’S. Yes, this is when it all started.

It was very popular for women to wear these off the shoulder dresses and was actually seen as a major staple in the 1800’s era. Funny thing, the dresses actually emphasized a “bottle-shaped neck”, and apparently it was an erogenous zone at the time. Ha. Ha.

We’ve come a long way with the Off-The-Shoulder tops, and it’s truly interesting to see how fashion innovates. What I love about this summer is that it’s very fashion-friendly. Almost everything is a trend as long as you style it well and present yourself pleasantly.

So go splurge on some off the shoulder tops and remember to keep them through generations, because fashion will repeat itself!
